Greater is Coming
So, you are out the boat. Now what?
I promised myself I wouldn’t cry when I actually sat down to write this. But emotions are high, and sometimes crying is inevitable.
The other day I received great news. I will be holding a Masterclass workshop at a middle school, back in my hometown. How amazing is that? Finally, interfacing with my demographic with a great program. God is nothing short of amazing and He is the reason my dreams are coming true!
However, as I looked at my inbox and saw more jobs available, yet no job offers or even call backs, reality set in. Reality can suck when you are following your dreams. It can suck even more when your dreams are coming true in your reality, yet other realities could jeopardize you following your dreams even more.
But, greater is coming. And I know this to be true. And it’s coming for you too.
In Matthew 14: 22- 32, when Peter stepped out of the boat, there’s no specific detail as to how many steps he took before he started doubting God. It could have been 3 steps or it could have been 30 steps. It’s important to remember that even when you get out of your boat, you must remain diligent in holding fast to God’s unchanging hand.
In a world of digital innovation, we are so use to instant gratification. We want things now, and we want results like yesterday – but sometimes you have to take a few more steps to walk through those doors that are opening just for you.
Greater is coming! You just have to hold on. Don’t doubt God now just because you stepped out of the boat and expected your situation to change the next day. Remain faithful, remain obedient, and remain in belief that God has something greater coming just for you.
So, it’s time to dig deep because it could be three steps or it could be 300. But, regardless of the number of steps you have taken, look around you – you are already walking on water. Don’t look behind you wishing you would have stayed in the boat and don’t look down to see the sharks waiting for you to fail – just keep looking and moving forward. There is a purpose in the midst of your uncertainty.
A scripture I hold near and dear to my heart is James 1: 2-4, “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” (NLV)
I know you have been waiting for your next opportunity, for the next door to open, for this season to be over, but Faith and Endurance go hand in hand. So, keep walking ahead. Step by Step.
Your Greater is Coming!!! Claim it today. This is just your season of Preparation, to prove to yourself that you can withstand trials and tribulations, that you are strong and courageous, and most importantly that you know in your heart that denial does not mean delay, it just means that God has something really great and really big on the horizon just for you.
Keep holding on my sisters and brothers. Keep holding on.
Happy Soul Glow Sunday Everyone!
